M52 Harpoon Gun

Hi All,
My father needs to sell (or relinquish) what I think is a M52 Harpoon Gun. His possession license has run out (this is in Canada) and he either has to take a training course or get rid of the gun. The gun hasn't been used in over 30 years and has been sitting in the original crate in the basement. I took a couple images of the gun and put them on flickr.
Does anyone know what a respectable price to ask for such a gun would be if he decides to take it to a dealer. I know nothing of guns so even a vague ballpark figure would really help.
Thanks.

Getting money for the gun isn't really of interest. As it was my grandfather's gun I would rather it just not go to waste.
The crate looks like something you might see in his bar area.
Your Grandfathers harpoon gun was built using a 98 Mauser rifle, that was reworked.
In the States I'm sure a collector would be quite interested in acquiring it. Being your located in the great white north with all it's funky gun laws, no telling what hoops a collector would have to jump through to buy and possess it?
