mounts on remington 700

i am buying a rem 700 that has a set of mounts on it,these are 2 piece with a stud sticking up in the middle of each 1. who makes these? what kind of rings do i need? thanks

    Simmons and Tasco made mounts like that. I think there are a couple others. Look for the name on the base. Although there's nothing wrong with those bases (except, of course, you can't use iron sights with them on there), it might be easier to ditch them and go with something else.

    Look for Nikon Ultralok rings, they may fit.
    Like previously stated, may just be cheaper and easier to get others.

    bases are the least expensive parts. better to buy good rings and bases and not try to use the old ones.

    I agree the mounts are the foundation of a scope. However if they are solid and secure they could be reused with success. Posting a picture would make it easy to ID the manufacture.
