here is the deal i just got a heck of a deal on a romanian psl it came with 40+ mags but when i was going through the mags about half had surface rust and some pitting but most full of some grease and dirt.. ok so here is my question is there a way to clean up the mags other than one by one? i have cleaned up 5 so far but it takes too long for me... is there a cleaner that would eat off the rust at all out there? thanks to anyone that can help

One reasonably good way to get of grease and dirt is to disassemble them, throw them in a container with "simple green" and water, agitate well, and brush with a soft bristle brush. Then you blow them dry.
The problem here is that the typical magazine blued finish *IS* a form of rust. Any chemical agent that will dissolve rust will usually strip off bluing too.
You can do this, but then you'll have to refinish all the magazines you stripped (also doable. . .I'd suggest parkerizing). . .but quite a bit more work.
Personally, I wouldn't go too crazy over this. How many PSL mags do you really need? Pick out the best 10-15 of them, sell the rest, and forget about it.
My thought,,,take some profit fron the extra mags..I know a guy (me) that would likea couple more. nambu
