Serial Number Location Old Win 69A

I have an old Winchester Model 69A-22 and would like to be able to find the serial number on the gun. I have removed the stock and bolt and find nothing on either. It has a scope on it, which I took off expecting to find the number under the mount, but no luck. Where the heck is it?

They were not serial numbered.....

Prior to 1968, there was no legal requirement for rifles and shotguns to have a serial number. Because of this many manufacturers did not bother to serialize there inexpensive guns. Perhaps this is why your Model 69 doesn't have a serial number?

No serial numbers on my 69As either; one of which was my first gun, bought new in 1962. As noted by Rufe-Snow, there was no requirement prior to 1968 for SNs.
