What can I do with a P250 to change calibers? Do I change anything other then barrels? Thanks.

Has anyone had any experiences with the P250? Is it worth looking at? I wish to get the gun in a smaller carry package, but since the gun comes in the default size, how am to know if the compact size fits in my hand? Are you forced to order what you think you want, or do most dealers have the alternate sizes available?

    No idea.
Talk to a local dealer and find out.

In the meantime, here is a snazzy commercial about this from Sig:

Personally, I just want a gun to do ONE thing right. I don't need to be able to alter grips, triggers, calibers, etc.

Conceptually modular guns are a good idea in Europe and other heavily restricted jurisdictions (eg New Jersey !) where getting ANY gun requires a major amount of paperwork/hassle.

If all you can have is one, then sure, being able to change sizes and calibers for different uses is a nice advantage. It *might* be an advantage also if ammo is scarce and you have to be able to use whatever you can get.

Also, if you do need a modular gun, the Tanfoglio (EAA) Witness will let you swap into different calibers (eg 9mm, .40sw, 10mm, etc) pretty easily, and the gun is less pricey than the SIG.

Yes, I have a few cop friends that have made the switch from Glock to Sig, and two of the chose the 250. My Dealer can't keep get enough of them to keep up with his demand. My buddy has purchased one and he loves it. It shoots fantastic, and its easy to switch around. My local gun shop has a stand with the 3 grips and my dealer has all three available as well, so I don't think you will have trouble finding the size you need. I thought the same thing about the sizes and wondered if sig can supply everyone with them, but they have so far. Beantown is right about the modular gun idea, and it makes sense for organizations or strict jurisdictions. As for yourself, maybe, maybe not. But even if you never change calibers, or grips, or triggers, the 250 is still a good gun. The only review I have read that doesnt say its "awesome" was in this months "on target" which said it shot far right.

My opinon of the gun- Its a sig, and you get what you pay for, private dealers may be able to get you a price under six. My buddy bought his for 575, and that was a steal. Easy DA shooter, easy to clean, small enough to carry.
