anyone have any ideas on factory ammo that these 300's prefer? the story goes on the one i'm holding with Rem 180 gr she shoots barn size groups. I'm in the process of getting ready to go to the bench and would like to narrow down choices. Thanks.

My customers have all told me tat they prefer to shoot 150 to 175 Gr loads, Nobody has ever bought 180 to 220 gr loads fo a R-1. Sorry this is not personal experance, it is just second hand knowledge on guns that I have sold.

Make sure that your scope mounting system is tight, and not moving around on you. What do you have for glass on it? I would try 150, or 180 grain Ballistic Silver Tips...never seen a rifle they wouldn't shoot in.

They look awefully close to the Browning, Beretta, and Winchester too. I would like to think being high end, they would shoot better than that.
