I am new to the forum, and also to the world of gun collecting.I recently inherited quite a few antique firearms. The one that sparked my interest the most and was in the best condition was a Winchester model 61 sl or lr.It has a non grooved reciever(in great condition) a round barrell(with slight damage near the end of barrell)the wood is in great shape. The serial # 52XX was what caught my attention most, and was hoping someone could give me info, age, value. All comments will be greatly appreciated.I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello and welcome to the Experts forum.

Your old Winchester Model 61 was manufactured in October of 1932 (first year production). It will have a slightly higher collector value as a result of that fact.

As for the value, I/we really need to see clear pictures of all parts of the rifle.
