ruger 10/22 factory barrel with .920 stock

I was wondering if this set up actually works? Would this be considered free floating the barrel? Other mods have to be done to function properly or just not work at all? What do you guys think or know about this?

The stock will fit no problem, and it sure will be floating your standard barrel in a .920 hole.
Other than looking a bit off it will function as usual.....

It should work with no problem. It might not be the most eye pleasing animal out there, but it will work.
