Colt 1911 1918 vintage slide, brushed blue finish

I have a 1917 Colt 1911, brushed blue finish, with a 1918 vintage, brushed blue finished slide. The slide has the post May recoil spring housing. A few months later Colt went to the Black Army finish. This leads me to believe that not too many of these were made. I wonder if it is more valuable then, since probably not too many were made in this configuration. The finish is original, 90%. Any estimates as to value? Of the slide, not the whole gun.

Thanks,

AC

Hello AC I hope this will not get me banned by Gunbroker[B)]. Up until about 6 months ago I would say your slide would stand a good chance of seeing a higher value. This Was before Flebay banned most 1911 parts. I was hoping that all parts sellers and all parts buyers would switch their business to GUNBROKER [:)]. IT did NOT happen [V]. I kept a record as soon as I found out the pending change that was coming to FLEBAY on the number of vintage 1911 slides that were for sale then I waited a month after the new rules took place and looked for the same 2 week time frame on Gunbroker .
There were less then 5% of the number of slides for sale at this time on Gunbroker and I sold some of my duplicates Frist on Flebay and then after the same month wait on Gnbroker I got over 8 times as many bids on Flebay[xx(] . Will not even go there on price I sold them for on each[:(!] . It is a sad Fact but my wish for traffic of both sellers and buyers did not go to Gunbroker they just fell off the face of the earth.[V]

Well Perry Shooter, I do know I have been looking for a 1917 slide in 98% condition for over a year, and have not even found a brushed blue slide, much less one in any sort of good condition. I looked for for it because my frame is 98%, and I want to match the condition. So, because of the short window in 1918, I'm sure there aren't many available! I have Bill Adair doing a 1917 slide for me now, and may hold onto the 1918 slide anyway, and not sell it. But if I do, I'll need an approximate value.
