Do to some bills from the wifes two major surgeries this last year I'm forced to sell a few of my toys.
The first one I have is a Ruger .44 Carbine I was looking for an approximate value for.
There are no major scrapes dings or marring.
The third pic shows that the bluing is in excellent shape.
The serial number of this gun is 102-xxxx

I hope your wife is doing well.
Listing your rifle on the auction side could be an excellent way to get top dollar for your rifle. There are folks here who could help walk you through the process. It's really pretty easy and straight forward.Good luck.
Your rifle seems to have been made in 1974 (http://www.ruger.com/Firearms/PS-SerialNumberHistory-RI.html#) In excellent condition you might get as much as $600 in an auction but $450 is closer. Sometimes the fever of the auction inflates prices. Here are two that recently brought more than $700:

Are they very accuratte?
*full disclosure I inherited 2 of them one in well used dinged up shape and a nicer one. Havent shot them and was coinsidering selling too.
What are they best used for? maybe pigs?
Only complaints of mine is that 1) you must use close to full power loads with jacketed bullets only and 2) I let the wife shoot it and now she thinks it is hers.
Not a big deal but the listings you note are for the newer Ruger 44 not the version rhossack is considering selling. About the only commonality between the two is that they both shoot 44 mags.
A flat, longer recoil pad will do wonders. The stocks are too short for me & the curved metal buttplates hurt. (Mine is the later lever action version.)
