I am looking for the above rifle.
Everytime I find one on various sites such as gunbroker.com, it does not match up with the information on www.savage99.com.
It seems the stock, forearm, checkering or no checkering do not match up as to the model [99c,99f, etc].
It doesn't tkae much to confuse me.
Any help?
Is there another web site with more info or am I already at the best one?

many thnaks

Remember the 99 was made for a long time. There were lots of different models and series and as well as that people have a habit of tinkering with them. Have a look at www.24hourcampfire.com and find the forum Savage Collectors. Those guys live for 99's. Can also try www.savagela.org.
    Regards Mick.

Savage made 358win barrels were availble for some time and were undoubtably retro fitted to existing rifles for folk who wanted the punch of the 358win. I've been sorry that I didn't pick one up when I had the chance. As I understand it the high prices on the 359win M99 isn't because it is particularly collectable, it is instead because the 358win is about as big a punch as that platform can handle and is plenty for 99% of north american game. So are you looking for a collectors piece or a shooter?
