I just got a USGI compass in a green case marked case. carrying m19 The compass is green and doesnt have any other marking on it. I think something was glued on the front of it at one time. Its not like the us military to not mark the compass so I assume what was glued on it was a serial number or some other type of marking. Any help would be great.

Probably the radioactive marking placard. I should also stamped with other info, such as the National (or Federal) Stock Number. If memory serves, the last seven digits were 151-5337. I have been retired for over ten years now so my memory is getting a little fuzzy.

I know that "Ranger Joe's" and other local military surplus stores used to sell unmarked ones that unscrupulous soldiers would try to turn in to me as the one they had been issued. Nice try, Buddy![:0] Yours could be one of the those.

    Edited for spelling.

bobski......it doesnt look like that. The case is made of hard green plastic kinda like scabbords. Is there such thing as a artiliary compass?
