SAVAGE 1925 SLIDE ACTION

I recently acquired a Savage 1925 that is in wonderful condition except for the buttplate. It has been replaced at some point with just a common metal buttplate. I am curious if the original was metal, and if so did it have the "Indian Logo", or was it a bone type of buttplate and did it nclude the "Indian Logo" on it. Since the gun is in such great condition, I want to try to get it back to collectable condition.

Any information would be greatly appreciated or perhaps if you know a Savage collector that can point me in the right direction.

According to Kimmel's "Savage & Stevens Arms. Collectors History" the M-1925 had a "corragated steel buttplate". I do not believe it had one w/the Savage Logo.
I believe the Logo buttplates were only on the M-1903 (.22) and some early M-99 HP rifles.
