Erma LA22 mag Springs

went to to dump this gun for a ruger 10-22 and the shop didnt want to consider a trade...cant blame him[:D]..due to bad feeding problems with these..got me thinking if i can replace the mag springs with a stiffer spring?..does anybody know of any replacement types out there to maybe beef them up?..any info would be great..thanks Ozzy

    Worked on a couple of them, they are very magazine and ammo sensitive. Only would work reliably with Mini-Mag solids.

    To the get the magazines to feed I filed a radius on the front of the mag so that the nose of the bullet had a better chance of feeding up the ramp into the chamber.

    One of the problems is that most of the pistol is made of Zinc,( potmetal), die castings. I was afraid to try to change the angle on the ramp because of this. One of the mags was so screwed up the only way I could get it to feed at all was to take it apart and remove the follower button.

    thanks rufe..will give your efforts a try and see if i can improve the feeding...ended up with the 10-22 out of pocket but what the heck [:D]
