"Trapdoor" covers a pretty wide variety of Springfield rifles, carbines & shotguns made at the Springfield, Mass. arsenal, and your question is far too general. They were made in .50-70 from leftover Civil War muzzleloaders and in .45-70 as production models. The model year should be stamped on your breechblock.

Please post clear pictures or provide a detailed description of every marking on your rifle or carbine, both on the wood and on the steel.

Pictures are preferable as there were many versions and changes to the Trapdoor Springfield, including cleaning rods, locks, breechblocks, stocks and sights.
