Buttstock loading 22

Trying to help a family friend value a few firearms and I am stumped. I know pics are worth 1000 words but it probably happen. They have a .22 auto that loads through the buttstock. There are no visible markings on this rifle, although I have not taken the stock off of it. I would estimate age at 50 plus years. It has a medium weight barrel.
Here is a terrible description so here goes.
The squared off rear end of the reciever reminds me of my Norinco SKS and the stock reminds me of my cheap single cock pellet gun that also has no markings on it.
Any help would be IMPRESSIVE as well as appreciated.

It always makes the best effort by posting photographs to assess condition and value.
You need to look for specific brand markings, a company name, a distributor, manufacturing address, proof marks, etc.
Best.
Does it look like this?
