There is a gentleman in Maryland who has offered me a 20ga. and 16ga. model 12. they are claiming these are factory engraved, could you please verify. thanks Pauline. They want 10k for the pair.

Everyone please let me know your opinion.

Here is the ad for them, they are from a local bulletin and I dont believe they compete with GB so I will post the link.

    cartod,

I will not say if the engraving is factory or not, but you sure know how to make a fella want to see the rest of those guns. Those are nice.

Thanks, I posted in her sticky above. I am suspect of them because I think they moved the chamber stamping along with the rest of the logos forward on the barrel to accomodate the engraving. also in photo #5 the wood to metal fit is terrible. Also, I think that Winchester would have used higher grade checkering on such work. Pauline will know all of this.

dont hold back guys, I value all of your opinions.

    Hi Cartod,
I could have been engraved in a factory but the factory wasn't Winchester. You are definitely right about the wood and checkering. It would be alot nicer wood and a higher grade checkering pattern if it had been done in the factory. Also with a pigeon on the ext. the checkering at a minimum should be a pigeon grade pattern.

If they where the real deal, I would think the wood to metal fit would be better.
    Just sayin'

Someone went great lengths to fake them, but fell way short. I did a double take on photo 5. The finish on the wood and the metal is considerably "off" as well, it seems.

If you were thinking of putting 10K on a couple of shotguns Cartod, you just gotta make it to Reno! Or Cody...
