I just bought a new to me MK II
Model # 00173 s/n 224-596xx in factory box. My question is why the red letters on this pistol?
Factory paperwork and factory test round were in box

what letters are red? Is all the lettering on the Ruger filled with red "paint" A photo would be nice. Some years back it was fashionable to fill all or most lettering with either white, red, silver or gold lacquer sticks. might be that was done by former owner.

All the lettering on it is red.
If it wasn't factory, they did a good job.
I can't post a picture, our camera is broken.
