AR15 vs Mini 14 II

OK, AR15 won that one on the accuracy question in the previous thread; I'm not disputing that, but are we talking scoped guns here? In my experience there's a significant difference in the front sight post thickness of those two weapons, and at the ranges mentioned (200yds+), could that account for some of the difference?
You get what you pay for too, and I don't think anyone mentioned the relative prices of the two.

You don't get to the matches much, do you?
Ever seen a mini14 at one?

No, the AR platform is MUCH more accurate.

I have a Mini-14 GB with side folding stock and I have to say that it's much more of a plinking gun than a target gun, but damn is it fun!!! Mini's also tend to be 20%-40% cheaper than AR's. IMHO, the AR will get it in there much better than a Mini. But, on the fun factor, they are different but both are pretty awesome to me.
That may have been true years ago but not so any more look at the prices on the up dated mini 14"s and there still not as accurate as an AR.

If nobody mentioned that, its because you didn't ask!
Differences in accuracy have nothing to do with sights, but with the guns differing designs and their respective intrinsic/mechanical accuracies.
The AR-15 platform is just an intrinsically accurate design, and if you are going for accuracy, its relatively easy to drop in a match-grade bull barrel and a match trigger. Not so easy on a mini-14.
Note that Ruger has relatively recently tuned up its production methods for mini-14s and the newer ones are supposedly a good bit more accurate than the older ones.
On prices, yeah, AR-15s do cost more, but not that much more.
New mini-14s run about $650, which puts them in the same ballpark as lower-end new AR-15s or slightly used ones. Used mini-14s run about $450-500, which is cheaper than most used AR-15s, though not tremendously so.
Note that new ARs keep their value a little better than mini-14s.
Also, remember that mags and other accessories for AR-15s are cheaper than corresponding ones for mini-14s, (plus available in greater variety, and usually easier to find).
Best
No. We're talking removing any sight on both rifles, whether iron or glass, and bolting both rifles into a shooting rest, and firing them without sights, bolted to the firing-rest.
The bullet placement downrange will be much closer together (read: tighter grouping) from an AR type rifle than with the Mini-14.
Best, Joe
