A mauser pistol in 7.65 is chambered in .32 ACP. The .32 short colt is an obsolete rimmed cartridge. So no you couldn't.

32 short colt is an old cartridge. Cartridge collectors may be interested in your friend's ammo. Why not post with "32 short colt" in the subject line and find out?

While it may be at least a little possible the round would fit, it would certainly not work right, might be unsafe due to headspace issues, and might have corrosive components which would cause the gun to rust.

Go to any gunshop or Walmart and get a box of 32ACP. It's the American name of 7.65 and is pretty common.
