springfield M1 CARBINE

[?][?] is there such a carbine made by springfield[?][?].
on the auction side #235380926 a guy is claiming that it is a
springfield.i emailed and asked and responce was/is that it is
stamped such. i have never heard of such an M1CARBINE.
your thoughts!!!

and he is asking 2000.00[:0] to start, i do not think he will get that much.

    they were going to make them but they never did but they had a few thousand receivers made and just sold them off i had a dozen ,they were sold at about 100.00 each early 2000 they were good and so you will find guns with springfield recivers and springfield contract replacement barrels

    Based upon the serial number, the carbine in question was not made for the US Military. The serial number, with the SC prefix, to me indicates this particular carbine was made by Springfield Armory which is a private commercial concern and not affiliated with the US Government.

    Good stuff there and proof again you can learn something new everyday. I wouldnt mind having a Springfield carbine but not for the price he wants for that one.
