I finally found a magazine tube for my Marlin #49 shotgun. However, it was an earlier type that did not have a nub punched into it to act as a stop for the action carrier. So, that is something to "look for" in a search and I thought I'd pass it on.

Both the new and the "old" tube are at the local machine shop to see if he can manufacture a nub on the new tube without warping it.

He'd been working on a fifth wheel trailer axle, and had the front end supported by a fork lift. It impressed me all to heck that he'd taken the trouble to put a heavy duty screw and lug nut fastened on the tip of one of the lift arms. (That's what keeps you from having heavy things fall on you.)
