Ruger M77MkIIVt 25.06 asking price?

Hi I am going to sell a Ruger M77MKII Varmint in 25.06 with a Leupold scope. It was originally purchased in 96. Has probably had about 100 rounds shot through it. It is nice and clean. I have shot it twice and found it to big for me. Although I did pretty well with it. Any ideas on what I should ask for it? Also any suggestions for a rifle for a woman (5'2") for 200 yds.

A lot of great guns out for smaller people. However the lighter the gun the more felt recoil. My wife is 5' and she started with a 243 for hunting deer. The recoil didn't bother her, however the gun was a little to big for her. I bought a Ruger RSI in 250 Savage. Smaller lighter gun and a little for power. This works real nice for her. Look into youth rifles most makers have then. Tikka also has a gun with an adjustable butt with spacers. However I don't know how small it goes with out any spacers. For 200 yard shots I would look into 7mm08 or a 260 Rem or 6.5x55. Of course you didn't say what you were shooting at 200 yards. I'm just assuming whitetail size animal. Some may say a 308, this is a great choice. However in a small light gun the recoil is pretty strong. My wife didn't like the First RSI I bought her in 308. 243 and 250 Savage are some other choices, however I don't know how good they are out 200 yards.

Thank you for your reply. I am using the gun for target at 200 yards.
The gun was my husbands (he passed away 4 years ago), he used it for hunting. I have just started shooting and decided to try this. I have shot it twice, about 20 rounds both times (they were loaded down some). The recoil doesn't bother me it is just too big for me. I like Ruger. So I will look into your suggestion. A Remington 700 or a Savage FP10 Tactical in .223 have been suggested also.

TALB, Welcome to GB! I would think the Ruger itself....around $450.00. What kind of Leupold?
As far as a good choice for a woman for a deer rifle, .260 Remington offers a good combination of power, accuracy and light recoil. The Model 7 Remingtons although light and short and fast handling have a bit of a trade off in that you get more felt recoil with them. Check out the post on GB general discussion about "Sarah does it again". The rifle in the picture is "her" rifle and it's a Remington 700 BDL in .260 and she is, 14 years old, 5'2" and about 105 pounds! She does all right with it! GHD
