Ok looking for some sort of sense here,if the 1 in 9 twist on an AR15 will handle up to 75gr bullets then why the 1 in 7 twist used on colts??Is there some advantage to the 1 in 7 I am missing??

1-9 is generally good up to 69 grains. For bullets up to 80 grains a 1-7 is better. The Colt H-bar target model has this twist. Not all colts do , to my knowledge. Someone will be along shortly to help you more.
