I've got a Hogue Rubber overmold stocks on my 300 winchester.

In december I took it to texas and while hiking around those cactus plant I've got hundreds of small scratches on it.

How do I get rid of them or at least make them less noticeable?

Thanks

    Thanks.

I tried WD-40 and it looks pretty good but I'm sure that is not the best thing to put on rubber since it left lots of black on the paper towels afterward.

    Maybe I'll try shoe polish.

Not much. The rubber is contaminated with oil (WD-40). Any solvent used to "wick out" the oil is not going to be kind to the rubber. The black on the rag is the rubber disintegration. Joe

    Travis,

I was going to pass on some words of wisdom, but I have a much better idea: Call Hogue Grips in Paso Robles, California, 805-239-1440
and ask to speak to a product engineer on the technical staff regarding the overmolded stocks. I'm sure they'll be pleased to assist and advise you regarding both your issues:
    --the cactus scratches
    --the WD-40 dilemma

DO COME BACK and let us know what they say to do about it.
