Browning website ID guide

I am seeing this website being recommended on many gun forums. I went there and all I could find for the a5 was 1903-1939, 1940-1946, 1947, etc. I personally didn't find that all that helpful. No criticism to the people recommending this site, just of the site itself.

    Yes, the information on the Browning website is lacking for the early years.

    That said, there is a really superb reference book titled "Browning Auto-5 Shotguns, The Belgian FN Production" that does list the serial numbers by years.
