I have a guy won an auction here that is from New Zealand. My auction clearly states no INTERNATONAL shipping .. If I decide to go through with the transaction can I ship this rifle USPS ?

You will need an export permit.

    You can do two things:

    1. Cancel the sale. Relist. Issue negative feedback to the winner.

    2. Be nice. The winner may have customs export/import already lined up, and ready to go. You don't know that yet. So, send an E-mail and tell him you'll hold the firearm for XX days so [the buyer] can contact a US agent to handle the firearm transaction (customs, red tape, etc.) and that you will only ship to a US import/export agent (that deals in firearms). Don't get involved. The legwork is on the buyer, not you.

Inform the winner it will be re-listed at the end of the time period agreed upon...with negative feedback, and that he should have read your requirements before he bid.

    Best, and good luck, Joe

    EDIT:
Just for information..there's a foreign (Canadian) seller here on GB. When you win one of his items, he ships the firearm to a US FFL that handles international shipments. After it clears customs, it gets shipped to your local FFL. He's done his homework. All you are doing is receiving a firearm from the FFL (in Michigan, I think) just like any domestic Gunbroker sale. Now, what about the currency exchange? Find out what a NZ pound (dollar?) is worth against the US $$$. This is where it gets sticky. You'll have to inform him the check will have to clear (international-may take up to two weeks) before you ship.

Perhaps he has that worked out also? Ask him, and find out. Joe

If the buyer needs help, and you want to complete the transaction for whatever reason, tell him to contact:
