My friend has a great older sxs shotgun. The only writing I can find on it is buhag suhl. It has great engraving and beautiful wood. I can email pictures to anyone who wants to see them. email me at plloyd@alssports.com I am looking to give him a value on this gun. Please advise

From what I know, Buhag was a shop in Suhl, in post-WWII in Estern Germany, that tuned up shotguns by Sauer, Simson, etc (a sort of work that AMG and Brabus now do to Mersedes cars in auto industry). Buhag did really good shotguns using Sauer and Simson barrels and receivers and stocking them in better wood and making better engraving (scalloped receiver, game scenes, ejectors, all bells and whistlers, etc.) than regular Sauers and the like. I would add 20-30% to a price of a post-war Eastern-German Sauer gun in equivalent condition (my advice is not professional though). I hope it helps.
Cheers,
