WINCHESTER 69A 22 Rifle

I have a WINCHESTER model 69A 22 Rifle and cannot seem to find a serial number anywhere on it...Can anyone tell me why it may not have one and what I have to do if and when I sell it? Also a value if possible..I have it up for auction on hte site if anyone needs to see pics (96584552).Thanks GB Members

    Hello serial numbers were not MANDATORY on rifles until the 1968 gun control act [^] Winchester put serial numbers on MOST of the high end 22's but not on some of the lesser models 22 bolt top of the line model 52 Target and Sporter[:D] then the model 75 Target and Sporter[:)] The model 69 came next.

    As Perry stated, serial numbers were not required until the GCA of 1968. Your rifle was manufactured sometime between December of 1937 and December of 1963.

    Based on the graded condition, your starting bid is at the very upper end of what it is worth. Factor in the shipping and transfer costs, and it is not an attractive buy.
