Has anyone glass bedded a ruger action?

I have a Ruger M77V in 308. Its the older stlye with the tang safety and the heavy barrel.

I bought a couple of Lee Six injection molded stocks but...

They keep cracking. They split either while shooting or just yesterday while I was cleaning and reassemblng, I was tightening the front action screw and it split.

How do you glass bed a ruger action when the front screw is at that 45 degree angle?

Anyone ever done this? The rifle shoots good I'm just hoping to stop from breaking another stock.

Thanks

If it split when tightening, there's a problem somewhere that will happen again after the repair job. Sounds like there's some wedging action with torque involved and the screw is making it happen so I would check this out before I do anything in the line of repairing. Make sure there's no reverse draft at this point or just simply , a portion is too large to fit in its appropriated spot. Just mu .02

I'm not intending to repair the other stock. I've got a new one. Its just that the last 4 have broken. I was thinking if I bed this one maybe it will be a little less likely to crack.

The ruger rifles have a separate metal magazine box that is held in place by the front trigger gaurd screw and the front barrel lug screw.

This front screw goes into the barrel lug at an angle. I'm always careful to check for binds in the magazine when I insert it to ensure it is below flush on the bottom of the stock. It just seems like there are dimensioning issues that allow the tightening of these screws to squeeze the stock too hard.

    Any thoughts?

How tight are you tightening the screw in in-lbs? Could you ge over tightening? Have you called Lee to see what they say? Very sure you have.

I've called and they seem like real good people. The old man told me they had a process issue back when they ran these stocks... Problem is they haven't made any since and don't plan on making any more. That is why each one could have an issue.

Do you think glassing could help?
