6.8SPC Ammo in AR mags

Can someone help me and answer this question? Will the 6.8SPC ammo fit and cycle through the standard AR 5.56 mags? Or will I need to purchase new mags to shoot this ammo through my new upper?

No. You will need to get some new ones. Technically the 5.56 supposedly can be rebuilt, I didn't want to try that route.

But the new mags are built to fit my lower receiver like the 5.56 mags, right?

I believe that 6.8 mags are steel mags, where as most 556 are aluminum.

The problem is that the alum mags bow outward when loaded with the 6.8 rounds, there by causeing jams.

Just what I have heard.

Buy the 6.8 mags.

I'm guessing there is some difference with the feed lips. I've found that even the 7.62x39 will feed from the 5.56 mag is you only load 2-3 rounds.
