Information for Sauer & Sohn Revolver

I am trying to evaluate the remnants of the collection of my late great uncle. In the collection is a (I finally figured out) Sauer & Sohn pistol that he brought back from Europe with him after WWI. In his hand written notes from 1971 he has the following:
Russian Six Shooter, cal. approx 44 or 45, 7 1/2" abbl, walnut stocks, good blue, serial 3xxx, was carried back after WWI, value $50, in leather holster with buckle, lanyard ring in butt.
I assume this weapon was being used by the Russians. The markings on the gun are: S&S (For Sauer & Sohn) V.C.S. Suhl (the city) CCH 1881. There is also what appears to be a double eagle stamp. I'm not proficient in grading but I would call the condition probably 70%.
Anyone have an idea of a ballpark value for this item or any additional information? Thanks very much.
