30 40 krag

I have agun that is a 30 / 40 Krag New england westinghouse..Also has on it CO , NY that is all that is readable...Can not find out anything on it..Any information appreciated email me at

    reciently aquired a 1889 krag 30 40 mechanicly seems to be in good shape the problem is the stock which has allready been sporterized must have taken a pretty good fall and is done. I have seen others sporterized with stocks other than original. does anyone know what other kind of stock would make for a nice job or were I can aquire a sporterized stock. I have no intentions of restoring it back to original. thanks for any advise. side note I saw a stock for sale that was advertised as an 1896 krag stock are there any differences in the two.
