Burris Euro diamond compared to ?

I am looking at these products and I wonder how they REALLY compare to Swarovski? I am considering the 10X42 binos and the 1.5x6X-40 rifle scope. I couldn't find any good comparison reports on the web.

I have a pair of Swarovski 8x40's so I am aware of what top quality is. Would I be disappointed in these Burris products?

All info appreciated!

I would hazard a guess that there are not any comparison reports between those two because that would be comparing day to night.

    dannej,

Burris is not as clear as a Swarovski. They are only about 1/3 of the cost though. I think they are clearer than Leupolds though. One of the things I do like about Burris is they have good quality and they have a lot of options as to reticle. That issue kind of bugs me about Swarovski because unless you are LE or Military they will not put a tactical reticle in a scope for you.

Many gun stores have a contraption where two scopes are stuck on a rifle stock, one above the other. It allows the buyer to do a one on one comparison between many scopes. That contraption is what sold me on Burris over Leupold. See if your dealer has one so you can really see the difference (if any) with your eye. If you are going to spend that kind of money it behooves you to make sure your choice is good for you.

The swarovski is great glass,....but not up to the price IMHO. Their reticles are sub-par, they don't come standard with illumination (like Nightforce NXS for far less money) and their adjustment turrets are way behind the Nightforce.

For the money,..Burris is darn hard to beat.
