I have found a Hatfield 20 ga Grade 2 shotgun for sale. I can't find any info on what they are worth. This one is stamped HATFIELD on the lock, and has beautiful wood, single trigger, no screw in chokes, 2 gold bans on the barrel behind some pretty nice scroll work also added to the barrel. Buyer is asking 2999.00 Does anyone know if the price is reasonable?

Is it a boxlock or true side lock? Hatfield has imported from several manufacturers in Turkey. There is one model known as the "New London Sidelock". It may be worth $2,900. I think the same company that is making shotguns for CZ (Huglu maybe) made shotguns for Hatfield. At one time, Hatfield offered a boxlock with removable sides to resemble a sidelock. For the kind of money you are thinking about spending, I think there are better options.

Here's one alternative, a SKB 385, very nice boxlock gun, and cheaper too. Also you might consider that parts and service for SKB are readily available.

Hello I to would want to find out as much as I could about a gun before dropping 3 big ones on it. I am no Shotgun expert but have been around them for a long time.and do know something about value on shotguns and other fire-arms. The description you give sounds like a higher grade gun HOWEVER it is not a WELL KNOWN brand I would like to know how you know it is a grade 2 is it so marked? or is this what the seller is saying about this item? I suspect the seller is trying to PUFF up the value . We would need CLOSE - UP in focus pictures to even guess at value . Remove barrels and see if there any proof marks on the WATER TABLE part of the receiver/action.
