i recently purchased a .38special cal derringer from an individual on gunbroker but have had no luck finding the manufacturer as there is some pocket wear on the barrel i know its is a over and under 2 shot .38spl derringer manufactured in Miami,Fl S/N 015189 barrel Markings Derringer -IE Miami,Fl
CAL. .38 SP.

Also found 2 stamps on the under side of the barrel by the barrel catch
One is a Star inside what looks to be a cloud or leaf of some sort with the lettering PSF stamped under it and the other is what looks to be 2 crossed long guns in front of a shield maybe

It is an "FIE", which is actually the importer. I would guess it was made by Rohm in Germany.

"F.I.E" was a American firearm importer/distributor, ( located in Florida ), who specialized in inexpensive personal protection handguns. As they have been out of business since 1990, your derringer probably dates to the 1980's or earlier.

The markings that you describe on it, are Italian proof marks. Since these small handguns were banned from importation in 1968. The barrels were probably made in Italy, with the frame and other parts made and assembled in the U.S.
