I would like to know the selling value of my Remington Model 742 30.6 rifle with checkard stock, with a military peep. It also has a 3X9 variable Redfield scope. The only think it needs is blueing.

Says Nylon 66 on pistol Grip
When was it made and Any Idea as to its worth ?
I looked on Website But Cannot find one like it.
Over 1 million of the Nylon 66 rifles were made from 1959-1990. I still have mine from the 1960's (paid $30 for it) and it's a fun and accurate rifle. The majority of them had brown stocks although some were made in black or green. Yours is called the "Apache" model of which 221,000 were made.
I have this 22 cal rifle it is Black plastic & Chrome Barrel/ Receiver. white diamond on forend

These rifles have almost a cult following. Black Apache models sometimes bring much more than they are worth as shooters.

Serial numbers were not required by the government until 1968. I believe yours was made in March of 1967.
