I just purchased a mauser reciver and barrel. I cant seem to find any info on it. I belive it is 7.65 argentine. But not 100% sure on this. On the left side of the reciver it is stamped. FAB.NAT.D'ARMEDdeGUERRO HERSTAL BELGIGUE. The crest has a sun at the top with a face in it. Two hands appearing to be holding what looks like a shovel pointed straight up. The crest is surrounded by wheat like leaf on both sides with a bow in between. And the writting beneath is GOBIERNO DE SAN JUAN. On the right side of the barrel and receiver it has what appears to be the serial number which is 86. The barrel is 15 1/2- 16 inches long. On the bottom of the barrel near the reciver is a crown with a oval underneath. In the oval underneath is the letters E, G, L' and a star. there is an A with a star on top on the bottom of the reciever and barrel. the spacing between the trigger guard screws is 7 5/8 inches. If any one know any info or the history of this please reply. Would really like to know about it. Thanks

Can you take a picture of the top of the receiver and post it here so we can see what markings are on it? It may have something like
"BNZ 43" ro "BYF 42" if it is a K98 WWII rifle. If it is a "bring back" k98 with matching numbers on all parts and stock it will increase the value.
