Mossberg Silver Reserve O/U

Wow..what has happened to Mossberg? I recently purchased a new Silver Reserve shotgun, and after 15 rounds -- nothing( it wouldn't fire). Also, around each firing pin and migrating to the edge of the receiver, primer "exhaust gases" had etched in the metal .Per Mossberg's instructions, I sent it to Texas for repair . I got it back today- it's filthy. the stock has 2 dents in it, and no repair to the gouges. I can't put in words how DISSATISFIED I am with Mossberg. Think twice before getting one ...I know it's inexpensive, but to not stand behind their product and to beat it up before returning it...NO EXCUSE! Anybody having any luck with the Silver Reserves?

A buddy of mine is considering a Mossberg Silver Reserve O/U in 12 ga. Anyone have one? If so how would you rate it? Pictures make it look like a good value. How would it compare to a CZ?

    Thanks,

Comparing the CZ to the Mossberg is like comparing a Coup de Ville to a Grand Am. The CZ is also more expensive, but if he handles examples of both before he buys, I am sure if he has the extra scratch in his wallet, he will opt for the CZ.

Well they are both made in a county other than the USA. as for which is better I dont know but people have been happy with both. Best bet is to get ahold of one and try it out.

    CZ with out a question!

Last Silver Reserve we had at the store was packed in metal shavings, partly rusted, horrible. I lost a ton of respect for the company after that one. Others have been fine though, go figure.
Half of the lives they tell about me aren't true.

Thanks for the advice, I will pass it on. I have a CZ ringneck SXS 20 ga that I am really happy with. I haven't handled one of their O/U's though.

I would take a Stoeger Condor before a Mossberg Silver Reserve, but the CZ is better than both of them.
