Glock 21 Defective Trigger Bar?

Has anyone heard of a defective trigger bar for the Glock 21? A failure to fire issue due to a short trigger bar numbered 4256, and firearm serial #'s EFG? I heard about this issue with the Mesa and Phoenix PD's and their model 21's. Some light shed on this subject would be much appreciated.

Your best bet would be to go to, http://glocktalk.com/forums/ one of their forums is specifically for LEO's. If anybody would be aware of problems with the Glocks used by cops, it would be them.

Unless you can absolutely substantiate this story about the "defective trigger bars", it just another internet BS story/rumour. My 2?.

Go to the Glock talk forums and look at the failure to fire thread from 03-08-08 on the post about Mesa PD'S problem with theirs.

EDIT- The new trigger bar has a -1 after the part number.

This isn't just an internet rumor.

The issue is light primer strikes, traceable to a design flaw in the trigger bar. I've been hearing about state and local LE agencies across the country experiencing this issue with their G21's since last year. Several - including LAPD - have completely banned their use unless this redesigned part is installed.

In typical Glock fashion, they haven't issued any widespread notification to purchasers despite this issue being identified by high volume purchasers across the country. Rather than issue a recall they've just been waiting until users contact them about their pistol's failure to fire before supplying this replacement part. From what I'm hearing, once notified they've been quick at supplying the 'upgraded trigger bar'.

If you notify them of such problems with your pistol, expect for them to tell you that you're 'not maintaining it correctly' - but that they'll also be mailing you out a redsigned trigger bar. [;)]
