I have finally decided to get an AK. I am having trouble nailing down the ONE I want. I am seeing them in .223 and other calibers. I need advise as to Who, What, Where, How... All info is appreciated.

What about the 223's. I heard good things about VEPR aks. and any one in WASR 3s, & 10s. I guess i should add if it ain't goodie friendly (acc's) Im not interested. I want to use/have this as a Zombie SHF Home defense gun. I am going to want to "TAC" this out. Rails,Sights,Lights, maybe even a laser. I can't help myself. Im used to "TACING OUT" everthing else. It wouldn't be fair to my future AK lol.

If you are willing to go for a Vepr, then go for one of those, or an Arsenal Milled reciever. The Vepr is built on a stamped reciever with the reinforced RPK front trunion, and they are very good. The WASR's are Romanian made, and are at the bottom of the food chain. They are being put together by Century International from parts kits, and American made parts. Some of the recievers being used were originally made for a single stack magazine, and then butcher shop opened uo for the doublestack. I have one, it works, and it shoots, but it is not even remotely close to the poly Tech Legend Milled I have.

In a .223 AK, I would go with one of those Bulgarian full stock side folders. They are not cheap though.

    .223 ammo is so rediculously priced @ $300+ per thousand, if I were you I would get an AK in 7.62x39 $160 per 1k rounds or 5.45 Ak74 @ $100 per 1k.
