Remington 760 in .300 Savage

I need a magazine or two for the 760 in .300 Savage. If you have one post in on gungroker and let me know. If you know of a dealer who does please help.

    All you need is short action mag 308,243 7-08 cheaper than dirt has them for 19.76 part no 19636

    Thanks, I have tried the .308 mag and it will not work, I have been told that the .300 Savage mag is unique.

    I've been using a magazine in mine that is marked 7mm-08 it was hard to insert at first until paint wore off on back side been using it now for about 3 years no problem. might also try numrich part no 929990a

    I have had/have several Rem. 760s in 300 Sav.and all short action mags with the exception of .222 or .223 mags will work in them. the one that works best in the one that i have now is marked .257 Robts. sure wish I had the rifle that one is for[:)]

    I recently bought a Rem 760 in 300 Savage. It was sold without the clip, but actually came with it. And I called Remington about not having one, and they said to buy the 7mm-08/243/308/small action clip.

    Now I have tried both, and the original inserts best by far. They are different along the top.
    I have gone to the pottery club and made castings of the top shapes, and will get these fired this week. I will then put them on Gunbroker to help with the modifications of the 243 clip.

    The .243/.308 mag will lock in the rifle, but the follower is much different and will not feed the .300 Savage. I am also looking for a couple of spare mags for the .300S.

    Does anyone know of a source for the .300S follower?
