HERE'S a really BIG mystery to solve! I have in my possession a Husqvarna 300 O/U shotgun in 12Ga. It's in 99% as new condition, has engraved coin finished receiver, oil finished stock, 26" vent-rib barrels, removable choke tubes, and it was made in Italy! I believe it's from the late 1970's or 1980's. It was presented to an employee as a retirement gift but because he wasn't a shooter it just sat (properly stored) around till I recently obtained it. Now .... here's the mystery .... I can NOT find any record of a Husqvarna 300 O/U shotgun anywhere! Can someone help me!!?? PLEASE!!! Thanks in advance for any info that you might be able to share!! Ken B.

If it was made in Italy, it's not actually a Husqvarna. Probably the U.S. importer of Husqvarna's wanted to expand his line of firearms, and made a agreement with the Swedish Husqvarna Co. to sell Italian made shotguns using their name. This is a marketing ploy nothing else.

There is also the possibility The Swedish Husqvarna Co. imported Italian made shotguns to sell under their name in Sweden.

One of the Italian Proof Marks on the shotgun will be a coded date. Because of this it's possible to ascertain DOM of the shotgun.
