daughter found this in attic of house they bought. octagon barrel,breech loading,fire pin is in the peice that drops down to load shell. looks to be 32 caliber.cant find any markings on it.

took barrel off stock. stamped inside stock is _illingworth cant make out first letter.

    Looks like a Belgian flobert to me. The .32 flobert isn't worth a ton, in that condition especially. Probably not more than $100.

    Yep, a Belgian Flobert. These were used for parlor games firing bb or cb caps. Do NOT fire modern ammo in it! Just oil it up, wipe it down and hang it on the wall as a found souvenir.

    Agree. The Flobert cartridge was basically an oversized CB Cap- no or very little powder, ball driven by primer. Used for indoor target shooting. POSSIBLY 7mm Flobert. Action is NOT strong enough for modern ammo.

    Still, it is interesting, unusual and a good conversation piece. Thumbs up on the find. A lot of older guns I have are not for firing...
