I've had an itch lately for a .380. I was thinking about the walther, I have a P22 and I like it. I was at a local shop and checked a few out and I actually liked the Bersa Thunder. It just fits my hand and feels nice. I also looked at the Ruger LCP. The only thing a favored about the LCP was that it said Ruger n the side of it. The shop owner preferred the Ruger. Im pretty sure im going with the Bersa. Does anyone have any feedback on this pistol. Ive done a search and have read lots of good things. Its actually a few dollars more than the ruger but less than the Walther. What do you think?

Actually the KelTec P3AT is a better pistol than either of them, it's cheaper than the Bersa and was so good that Ruger copied it to make their LCP.

That being said, I haven't heard any complaints on the Bersa other than it's a bit chunkier than either the Ruger or the KelTec.

For range work or plinking and carrying in hand, the Bersa would be all right. For concealed carry the KelTec P3AT would be better. For bragging to your friends, the Ruger LCP would be best.

I think your first thought was the best one; go with a German made Walther PPK. With that choice you've got a highly reliable and concealable small auto and one with some collector value too.

I bought a Bersa about 6 months ago - absolutly reliable - for cost reasons I reload with a cast lead round nose and they too are 100% reliable. The trigger pull is amazingly light in double action and real sweet in single action. Groups are about softball size at 25 yards shooting two handed from a rest, I'm sure the pistol is more accurate than that but it's the best I can do with such a short barrel. It seems to shoot all weights bullets to the same point of impact albiet a little low for me. It's a great pistol for the price, get it in nickle so you don't have to worry about rust.

Well, if you're going the collectable route, a Remington Model 51 would be awesome, if you can find a good one.

My opinion is that you find standard, steel-framed Colt Mustang, which is now out of production

Without getting into its origins, history, etc., the Mustang is a single-action, kind of a scaled-down Colt Government .380 and looks like a baby Model 1911.

It was also available in a light-weight alloy frame version. There was another variation with a longer grip frame and higher-capacity magazine, which I think defeated the purpose of a small, hideout carry gun.

I think the original, steel-frame Colt .380 Mustang is one of the top three best concealed carry guns ever made.

Winchester 1912 +1. Best pointing locked breach 380 and less then one inch wide. IMHO the Best 380 ever built.

I bought the Bersa Concealed Carry model in stainless and found it to be very acurate, and comfortable. I did have a problem with it feeding Hydro-Shocks, But I contacted Bersa and they had me send it free of charge to thier gunsmith in Colorado and he fixed it quickly and correctly. It is now my first choice when I carry.

I'm not much of a pistol guy but there are 2 on my future list of collectable firearms. One is, of course, the Remington 51, the other is an original Colt 1911 45ACP from WWII. I've read extensively on the Remington and find it to be an engineering masterpiece.
