Hi, do the barrels on the 412 guns need to be headspaced. I see them for sale on the auction side and thought about getting a new/used set. If they do just a rough price on what that would cost if you know.

THANKS

Hello I have 4 sets of barrels for my model 412 This was one of the great features of the Valmet system. I have never had to do any work . I have heard that sometimes the Extractor may need to be tuned ./formed but never even needed to do this. as to price it all depends seems to get higher each year. . The least expensive around these parts are the 223/12Ga.

EDIT Yes every barrel set I have ever tried worked like a champ . I have 2 friends that I purchased one of them a model 412s and the other a model 512S. we swap barrels all the time. I don't reall have a need for Double rifle barrels but one of my friend loves them The great thing about the double rifle barrel sets is the fact you can adjust the barrels so they both have the same point of impact even if you change loads I have one friend that has the 9.3X 74 barrel set he loads one barrel with RWS Partitioned and the other with solid. You can even swap between receivers and POI stays the same. . I guess you can say I really like this Model of Valmet.

HI, So are you saying I can buy a set of used barrels off GB auction side and just put them on my receiver. No need to have them headspaced or fitted to my receiver? THANKS
