I want to polish the receiver to a like new gleam. How can I do that?
It has no collectible value. Its a shooter.

You CAN do anything you like it is your shotgun but . I would not engraving should have SHARP edges If it is beat up and only a shooter GLEAM like new for what purpose[?]

i use a "miracle polishing cloth" to clean up those receivers. they can be found at knife dealers. smell like coconut oil. work well and will not harm finish. if you cant find them try flitz metal polish.

Buff it with a soft cloth to desired luster.
