Anyone shoot the originals (in good shape) or are they best left as collectibles?

Besides having to clean the cylinder bores and nipple threads on nipples and cylinder, the whole gun needs to come apart, be cleaned and oiled including inside the grips soon after firing.
Every time these pieces come apart, the gun is diminished and for that reason I sold my original Colts.
