german rifle id

i have obtained a rifle i believe was used in ww2i think it is 7mm07 bolt action military sights serial number 5682 there is an emblem on the barrel that i recognize from some movies documentarys about the nazis the emblem looks like an eagle with its wings spread and a swastika hung below it the only numbers i can read are7mo7 any help id ing this rifle would be of great help the bore looks bright and shiny the bolt slides very smoothly and the firing pin falls when the trigger is pulled as soon as i get the pictures ill add them to this blog any idea what this gun is worth thanks hank

    There is a sticky at the beginning of this forum explaining how to post pics. Basically go to one of three hosting sites put it there and it will transfer to here.

    Where you describe the 7mm07, is that on the barrel or the action? If on the action I'm almost thinking it's some kind of proof-mark.

    But, pics would be best.
