locked?

how do these topics get locked? i was chatting sunday 11/23 a little,and every subject i was on is locked. i was gone for a while due to the holiday's and came back to catch up and they were locked. just curious as to how, not crying.[}:)]

    Capt. locks topics after 10 posts, usually. Good idea, keeps hot air & B S to a minimum. If your question can't be answered in 10 posts, you got problems we can't help you with.

    Here on the experts forum our moderator Capt. Kirk has a policy of locking topics after 10 posts because by that time the topic has usually been answered and the "chatting" and editorials have begun. Ask a question about gun laws in California and you will get your answer on the first post and then another nine postings telling you to simply move out of the state...not really adding much to your need for information in the process! If you have a specific question here and received your answer the topic will be locked if there is nothing more of substance to add or if the good Capt. has simply had enough and shuts it down! General discussion topics on the other hand can go on for days while racking up hundreds of postings.

    Actually....moving out of California isn't such a bad idea.
